Preston Williams brings more than 25 years of insurance experience to GuilfordPare. The vast majority of this experience is in Workers' Compensation. As an Executive Consultant Mr. Williams leads the direction and implementation strategies for Insurance and Reinsurance clients. He is the key contact and liaison between clients and GuilfordPare to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Mr. Williams most recently was the President and CEO of the Injured Workers' Insurance Fund (IWIF), the largest workers' compensation insurer in the state of Maryland. During his tenure the combined ratio improved form 162% to 130% and IWIF produced their first operating profit in over ten years. Through business growth and pricing initiatives premium grew by $70 million, a nearly 100% increase. Mr. Williams worked with both the Maryland Senate and House committee chairs to produce legislation applying the Risk Base Capital requirement to IWIF.

At USF&G, later St. Paul, Mr. Williams directed and developed the comprehensive branch consolidation strategy for the entire country. Operating efficiencies were maximized through workflow reengineering and systems planning those optimized resources.

As Assistant Vice President of Servicing Carrier Operations for USF&G, Mr. Williams developed and implemented strategy to secure business, process and service policies, and coordinate claims. He reorganized, restructured, and restaffed operations in accounting, policy processing, home office, and customer services while winning over $80 million in contract bids.

Mr. Williams has served in a variety of positions within the workers' comp community. From 1990-1993 he was the underwriting manager for the $500 million of workers' compensation book of business at CIGNA.

Activities

Mr. Williams is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Living Classrooms Foundation, a non-profit organization providing hands-on education and job training for students with a special emphasis on at-risk youth.
