
John W. Gradowski has over twenty years of experience in
the commercial insurance industry. He has held officer-level
position in the areas of finance, operation and underwriting
in The Home Insurance Company of New York, NY, Crum &
Forster Insurance Company of Morristown, NJ and USF&G
Corporation of Baltimore, MD.
Johns talents contribute special skills to
Guilfords team. John facilitates benchmarking for
employers, groups, insurance companies and reinsurers on
analyzing and tracking Guilfords success. He is also
a member of the analysis team for assessing problems for our
client companies. He provides special project management
services by providing professional expertise to augment that
of in-house professionals. John assists companies with
strategic planning and analysis including the use of
financial modeling and forecasting.
In the past, John has managed system development projects
for a number of companies including a $1.7 million
deductible billing system for USF&G, a $1.0 million
policy and claims management system installation for Avemco
Financial Services and a $2.0 million price and business
monitoring system for Crum and Forster Corporation. He has
been involved with strategic planning and analysis as the
underwriting officer who established the strategic direction
for the USF&G risk management initiative and as the
financial controller responsible for a $450 million field
operations budget involving 4,000 employee in 34 branch
offices for USF&G.
He has served in various underwriting management
capacities including serving as the national manager for
USF&Gs large account risk management unit and as
assistant general manager for $300 million New York City
branch office of the Home Insurance Company. He also had
directed marketing responsibility for a $60 million book of
Excess and Surplus Line products for The Home Insurance
Company.
