Ms. Detweiler brings nineteen years of workers' compensation and unemployment claims experience to GuilfordPare. She assists employers in the professional assessment of the medical, social and economic needs of their employees, while coaching employers in GuilfordPare's integrated employee benefits model. She has developed and delivered training to integrate all aspects of workers' compensation case management for several Fortune 500 companies targeted at controlling workers' compensation costs.

During her tenure with GuilfordPare, Ms. Detweiler has also worked with several of the top insurance companies in the United States to assist in coaching their employees toward proactive case management that results in the closure or containment of cases. She has also worked with them to realign the process and procedure to support results.

Prior to joining GuilfordPare, Ms. Detweiler spent several years in various positions at GatesMcDonald. Her duties included Investigating and adjudicating workers' compensation claims for several companies in various states, including Southwest Airlines. She advised and conferred with employers on workers' compensation situations, laws and procedures. Discussed and worked with attorneys on litigation and settlement matters. Authorized proper treatment and expenses for claimants' medical needs. Conducted account visits to review and discuss status and strategies on claims handling.

Ms. Detweiler spent several years managing unemployment claims for several Fortune 500 companies. She analyzed and solved unemployment issues for clients throughout the entire eastern region to control the bottom line financial impact of unemployment compensation claims. She represented employers at state unemployment hearings and in front of the Board of Appeals.

Activities

Ms. Detweiler has been a member of the Maryland Claims Association. She has been involved with the MD Chamber of Commerce and teaches Sunday school and is an active PTA member.

Education

A.A., Essex Community College , Baltimore, MD
Attended Towson State University with a concentration in Human Resources and Business Administration. She continues to pursue continuing education courses in the insurance industry through AIC classes.
